Hare Srinivasa,

Sri Vishwesha Teertha Bhakta Mandali, Chennai invites all devotees of Sri Pejavar Swamiji to Karnataka Sangha, T Nagar on 12-Jan for Guru Smarane to offer our gratitude and salutations to our great Swamiji. As you are aware, we in Chennai are blessed and fortunate to have got the opportunity to have darshan of Sri Pejavar Swamiji often and listen to his anugraha sandesha and receive phala mantrakshate from his holy hands. Chennai seems to have close connection with Sri Pejavar Swamiji as he has established not one but FOUR institutions here to serve our community. SRS Mutts in 3 places(T Nagar, Triplicane and Vadapalani) and Vidyapeeta in Velappanchavadi. All these mutts are there for many years and have been serving us for long in several ways.

We need to remember few years ago Sri Pejavar Swamiji observed his 74th Chaturmasya in Chennai and it was a double delight/gift for us, as he was here with for an extended stay due to Adhika Masa coming in between. Now let us all get together in large numbers on 12-Jan-20 at T Nagar Karnataka Sangha to pay our tributes to our great Swamiji. Please pass on this to your friends and help them join in this program without fail.

Pushyarka Yoga on 20-May-18 & 17-Jun-18

Hare Srinivasa,

Here comes a gentle reminder that the first Sunday in upcoming Adhika Masa (20th May) is a special day to earn Sri Rayaru’s blessings. We have Pushyarka Yoga on this day as the Pushya Nakshatra is coming on Sunday. Also we have one more similar combination that is occurring next month on 17th June.

Pushya is a Sanskrit word, meaning “to nourish”. The ruler of Pushya is Saturn or Shani and its deity is Brihaspati or Jupiter, the Guru of wisdom. When the Pushya Nakshatra falls on Thursday or Sunday, astrologers and religious minded people consider it as favourable and call it Pushya Amrit Yoga. This day (Pushya Nakshatra) is an auspicious day to see, take blessings and remember your Guru or spiritual teacher. It is in this manner that Pushya has an auspicious link with spiritual and religious matters.

We all know that one of the greatest devotees of Rayaru was Sri Appanacharya. He brought out the benefits of remembering Rayaru on such a day or on Pushya Nakshatra.

In his Raghavendra Stotra, Sri Appanacharya says,

“Soma surya parogo cha pushyarkadhi samagame,

Yo anuthamam idham stotramashtothara satham japeth,

Bhootha praetha pisachadhi peeda thasya na jayathe”

What this means is that when there is a lunar or solar eclipse or during Pushya Star on Sunday, any person reciting the shlokas of Raghavendra Swamy or remembering him, will not have any kind of trouble. No ghost, devil or/and any evil will trouble a person who recites the Raghavendra Stotra 108 times or performs the japa 108 times.

So let us all make use of this auspicious day by getting together in front of Sri Rayara Mruthika Brindavana and chant the famous Sri Rayara Stotra as many times as possible and earn the blessings of Sri Hari Vayu Gurugalu.
