As you know, KK Nagar Madhwa Sangha has been doing a great service to our Madhwa community by several means – one of the prominent activity is the publication of great Madhwa Granthas and Stotras in multiple languages every year. So far they have published 20 such books for our benefit. This year the Sangha brought out “TANTRA SARA SANGRAHA” which is one of the Sarva Moola Granthas written by Sriman Madhwacharyaru. The first volume contains the translations of first two chapters with 94 verses is published this year. The second volume intended to be out next year will cover the remaining 2 chapters with 308 verses. Shlokas are in Sanskrit, English and Tamil and brief summary is given in English and Tamil languages. Chrompet Sri R Sridharan has done the translation work with excellent notes both in English and Tamil.

TSSTSS 3

Tantra Saara Sangrahah is condensed adaptation of an earlier work by name Tantrasaara written by Sri Vedavyaasaru. It is an Aagama work. In this rare work, Sr Madhwacharyaru has elaborated the chanting of Ashta Mahaa Mantraas, efficacy of other Mahaa Mantraas, Establishment of idols in temples, the details of temple construction, Pooja procedures and practical rites. This book is a compendium of Maadhva ritualisms and rites. This Tantrasaara is valuable work which everyone should at least read once. Sri Madhwaru himself has told that by mere reading this text alone will give all benefits to the readers. Suppose readers indulge in practising what is told, will definitely get all the benefits without any doubt.

Sriman Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya – Vol. 10 by Sri R.Sridharan

Hare Srinivasa,

As you all are aware Chrompet Sri R Sridharan, Managing Trustee of Chrompet Maadhwa Seva Charitable Trust is doing yeoman service to Madhwa community by coming up with the Acharya’s Magnum Opus Sriman Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya in Tamil for the benefit of Madhwas in Tamilnadu. Sri R Sridharan has been carrying out the first-of-its-kind, gigantic task of translating the entire Sriman Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya of Sri Madhvacharyaru in Tamil in ten volumes.

This work of Acharya is a magnificent work containing more than 5200 verses in Sanskrit. It is an epitome of Bharatha and serves as an encyclopedia of Madhva Premeyas. Being an important work of Sarva Moola Shastra, it dispels all doubts in scriptural literature. In fact Srimadhacharya concludes at the close of this work that he composed it under the instructions of Lord Narayana himself. This unique Tamil translation carries original slokas in Devanagari and Tamil scripts, translations and exhaustive notes with elucidatory explanations. This work is being published as a Seva to Lord Vayudeva without any pecuniary motive. The tenth volume was released recently by Sri C K Ramamurthy, Editor, English Tatvavada Magazine on 04-Oct-14 at Chrompet Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brindavana.

This work is being authored by renowned Madhwa Scholar and Managing Trustee of the Trust, Shri. R.Sridharan. Sridharan is very simple and unassuming. He is a profound scholar in Madhva Philosophy, Dasa Sahitya, a study of Dasas and their works, is his specialized field of study.  He has established a reference library of his own. He has been honoured with many titles and awards like ‘Dasa Sahitya Seva Rathna‘, ‘Chrompet Rathna‘, ‘Dhruva‘, awarded by renowned personalities. He has also written/has been writing articles for many years in the popular spiritual magazines like Tamil Tathva Vaada, Sri Sudha and Guru Sarvabhouma.

Thus far, nine volumes have already been published and the Tenth one(576 pages) was released recently. The Tenth part contains the shlokas of the 29th, 30th and 31st Adhyayas from the MBTN. This great series will see 2 more volumes as per the author.

As we don’t have a translation of this great work by Acharya in Tamil, the Madhwa community (who doesn’t know to read Kannada) is highly indebted to Sri Sridharan and CMSCT for their great effort in this regard.

Saligrama Mahima – Tamil Book

Hare Srinivasa,

When it comes to our daily anushtana, Sandhyavandana and Gayatri Japa comes very first and these are a MUST-DO task for everyone(Purusharu). Lot of emphasis is there in our puranas and shastras and without these any other satkarma done like pooja, parayana and homa will not yield any results. Next in the mandatory list comes the Devara Pooja or Saligrama Pooja. Doing Saligrama pooja is vey sacred thing and one should be fortunate and blessed to have got the opportunity to touch the Saligrama daily for offering our pooja. You can find lot of quotes/notes and books stressing the importance of Saligrama pooja and as we all know, the sannithya of Sri Mahavishnu is always present here and no avahana is required. If 16 Saligramas are present in any house, then it is called a “Kshetra”. Our one and only Jagadguru Sriman Madhwacharyaru has dedicated few shlokas on the significance of Saligrama pooja in His “Sri Krishnamrutha Maharnava” where He says :-

” Those who touch the Shaligrama Shila everyday, even the Gods desire to touch the hands of such people ”

At this point we need to remember with Shastanga Namaskarams and regards to Vidwan Kumbakonam Sri M Rama Rao. It is only because of his book “Devapooja Paddhati” released many many years back in Tamil, today Saligrama pooja is happening in many Madhva homes in TN. In this regard Sri V Ragothaman has done a great deed by sending one pdf book in Tamil on “Saligrama Mahima” by Sri Ramachandra Sharma to our Madhwa mailing lists recently.

Please click on the link/image below to view/download the book in Tamil. Many thanks to Sri Ragothaman for sending the scanned version of this old book(Treasure) to the group in the larger interest of devotees.
