Dharapuram Car Festival @ Sri Kadu Hanuman Temple – May 2015

Dharapuram in Tiruppur district is the place famous for the presence of Sri Kadu Hanumantharaya Swamy temple. This Anjaneya vigraha was installed by one of the great saints in Madhwa yati parampare, Sri Vyasarajaru. Of the 732 idols he installed, this one in Dharapuram is the 89th in sequence. The lord here is very powerful and the devotees flock to this place from everywhere during the annual Car Festival celebrated on the Narasimma Jayanthi day.

Car Festival is celebrated in a grand manner every year for around 10 days in this temple. This temple is a unique place where along with the mrithika brindavana of Sri Rayaru, Sri Teekacharayaru mrithika brindavana can also be found in the Lakshmi Narasimma swamy sannidhi. This year too the celebrations starts on 25-Apr-15 till 04-May-15 with the main event, the Car Festival on Narasimma Jayanthi day, the 02-May-2015(Saturday) at 10.45 AM.

26-Apr-15  :    9:30 AM – Flag hoisting and vastra samarpana 

01-May-15  :     7 PM   –  Thirukalyana Utsava to Sri Rama devaru

02-May-15 :     10:35 AM –  Car Festival

    I liked this information pls tell me to go this place where to get down if we go by train so that I will try to go next year

      hi sandhya

      if yiou prefer to go by train the nearest place you can get down @ Erode from there take a bus and itll take around 2 hrs to reach dharapuram, from bus stand you can take an auto as the temple is just 2 kms distance from Busstand. ITS A NICE temple and swamy is very powerful.

  2. The nearest major railway station is TIRUPPUR. Dharapuram is around 50 kilometres from Tiruppur. Another major station ERODE Junction is 70 kms away from DPM.
